And ..... we're off
Lent. Yes. Lent is here. Obviously this is kicked off by the over-consumption of pancakes. Come and join us on Tuesday 9 February 2016 in the Parish Hall, doors open at 5 pm. It’s going to be delicious! Note to self: wear something with an elastic waistband!
On Ash Wednesday – 10 February - our usual midweek Eucharist on Wednesday at 10 am will include the Imposition of Ashes. As usual a lively Bible Study session will follow led by the incomparable Dudley Ritchie.
There will be a further Ash Wednesday Service at 7 pm.
The Craft Group meet on Thursday 11 February at 10:30 am ish. Creativity thrives with company.
On Friday 12 February we are having our first Taize Service at 7 pm. I happen to know the Harpist who is coming to accompany our peaceful contemplation. She’s amazing. Come and make space in your heart, mind and spirit – let God flow in.
On Saturday 13 February from 9 am to 12 pm we are having a Quiet Morning with special guest Gail Newell. She’s going to be talking about using the Psalms to guide you through your Lenten Journey. Hence the title: A “Psalem Journey Through Lent”.
Of course we’ll be here on Sunday 14 February as usual at 8:30 am for Quiet Communion and again at 10 am for the louder version. This week we welcome the Reverend Laurel Dykstra from Salal and Cedar Watershed Discipleship Community - a new ministry of the diocese to help Anglicans and others live out the Fifth Mark of Mission “to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.” Learn more about what on earth that actually means.
You won’t want to miss it!
See you there…
