This Week's News- you Need to Read this!

Yellow doesn't really suit me

Yellow doesn't really suit me

It never rains but it pours.  That’s the saying right?  Well, it did pour today.  On my head.  While I was using the “facilities” at All Saints.  So – ladies – do not wear your best hat when coming to church for a couple of weeks!  There is a leak in the bathroom ceiling.  Sigh.  Thankfully, before any real weather comes, the work will have started on the roof and all will be snug and dry again.  Hurrah!  It will be great to see some actual concrete work (well – shingle work at least) being done on the building after all the hard work you have put in over the past couple of years.  I hope you’re as excited as I am.  It will be nice not to have to change into my sou'wester every time I need the washroom!

In other news there seems to be lots of items hanging around the building which must belong to someone.  This week and next there will be a table in the hall following the service with all the “bits and bobs” that are lying around.  Please claim anything that belongs to you.  Here’s a photo – if you recognize anything and can’t get to the church please e-mail me so it can come home.  Whatever remains after 4 September will be donated to the Thrift Store.

One more thing – I’m horrified that every couple of weeks my recycling bin is completely stuffed – it’s huge too!  I was hoping we could come up with some ways of using less paper.  I would like to send out the prayer lists by e-mail and also the monthly worship schedules.  Of course if you would still like a paper version that will be available. I will send out the schedule for September by e-mail and see how it goes.  If i don't have an e-mail address for you - I'll put it in your mailbox as usual.

Ok, that’s definitely enough information for now!  I hope you’re all enjoying the petrichor (that’s my word of the day – it’s that wonderful earthy smell after the rain – good one eh?)
