The rain is on it's way. It's going to be a gloomy Saturday. What a great excuse to stay home and go through your books! Bring any you don't want to church on Sunday and we'll put them in our Giant Book Sale on 1 October. That way you'll have some space on your bookshelves to fill with your haul from the sale won't you? By they way - did you see Mrs Dempsey in the Optimist this week?
Apparently this Sunday is "Return to Church Sunday". I didn't know there was such a thing?! Anyway, if you haven't been here for a while - you now have a day devoted to you. We would love to see you.
Don't forget on Saturday 17 September at 5:30 pm we gather for our International Buffet. Everyone is bringing something from their country of origin. I have heard of treacle tart and English trifle to name but a few. Mmmm.... I SO wish I could come! Don't worry if you haven't signed up - just come along anyway and bring something to share.
On Sunday we meet at 8:30 am and 10 am for Eucharist after which we will hear a presentation from "Food On The Corner" as we enjoy our coffee. This is a local charity which makes and delivers sandwiches and soup to the hungry and homeless downtown. It's also our turn at Delta ECU at 2:30 pm so basically - you're spending the whole weekend with your church family.
On Tuesday 20 September at 6:30 pm is the Community Meal. Come and lend a hand, and make some new connections.
Is there something at All Saints that bothers you? A dirty window, fingerprints on a door frame, cobwebs ... Between Tuesday 4 October and Saturday 8 October it's "Love All Saints Week". A time when you can drop by and take care of that little job that you wish someone would deal witih. If you can hold a duster you can help. There's a list of jobs up in the hall so you can sign up but PLEASE feel free to add your own too! It's time our building got spruced up for all the fall and winter activities. Come as a group, with a friend or on your own, there's plenty to do! There will be refreshments ... (note to self: provide awesome refreshments.)
Don't do cleaning? Guess what - you can come on Saturday 15 October between 10 am and 12 pm and help in the gardens. There will be refreshments for you too.
