Dear Church Family
Thanks for making the International Buffet Dinner such a success. I hear the food was plentiful and delicious and the company was unparalleled (which is strange because I wasn't there ...)
Coming up soon is our Giant Book Sale - on 1 October at 10 am. Word has got around and the initial worries about whether we would have enough books is LONG gone! Goodness me! The nurses office now looks like a library, the nursery looks like a library and as for the library? Well .. that looks like a library too. If you can spare any time to help out with sorting and set up for the book sale please talk to Pat Dempsey.
The Blessing of the Animals will take place on Sunday 2 October at 2 pm. This year we unite (see what I did there?) with Jim Short from Ladner United for a joint service to be held at Memorial Park (Ladner United in case of rain). Bring your animal friends or just come and be thankful for those you have loved and lost.
Don't forget to Love All Saints! Drop in any morning from Tuesday 4 - Friday 7 October and clean something. There's a list in the foyer of little jobs that need doing. Please add any of those things that have been bugging you. Refreshments will be provided.
Have you experienced a major life change which you still struggle with? Losing our independence, mobility, job, relationship - all these things take a good deal of adjustment. Liz Macdonald will be hosting a series of five sessions starting Thursday 6 October from 1 - 3 pm. There are posters in the hall with more details. This is not just about grieving a death but for anyone facing changes in circumstance. Call the office to register 604 946 8413.
Enjoy your weekend - hopefully we can all enjoy some more sunshine in this beautiful season. Thanksgiving is fast approaching and it's certainly easy to appreciate the blessings we have been given while surrounded by such beauty.
