News from All Saints

Hmmmm

Hmmmm

This week a few people have been showing All Saints some love - but mostly in the background when no one is looking. Someone has taken care of the Mount Etna of washing up which was in the kitchen sink, someone else has come in and dug about forcefully with the vacuum cleaner in those annoying little spaces by the pews and yet another person is in the building right now replacing those little feet that keep the doors open in the hall. How marvelous it is to be able to sail back and forth between kitchen and office without hearing the door slowly close behind you! It’s a small thing, and I appreciate it enormously. Tomorrow I may bring in my roller skates and go about through various doors just to appreciate the fact that they remain open (I won’t actually be WEARING the roller skates, but that sounds more impressive than telling you I’ll be carrying them in a bag). Small things do make a huge difference don’t they? I wonder what small thing I can do today to make the world a better place? How about I stop yammering and get to the point?

The week ahead looks like this:

On Saturday 26 January at 4 pm we meet for Messy Church. Bring someone small along for crafts, music, a very chill Eucharist and then a yummy spaghetti dinner (even the food is messy).

On Sunday 27 January we meet at 8:30 am or 10 am for our regular Sunday worship services.

On Wednesday 30 January the OASIS group meets at 10 am for the Eucharist followed by bible study. Centering Prayer is at 5:30 pm.

Craft Group meets at 10:30 am on Thursday 31 January

And then - SUDDENLY - It’s February! Please remember to drop by with a duster or something on Saturday 2 February between 10 am and 2 pm. Anything you can do will be much appreciated. I myself am attempting to get hold of a hazmat suit so I can tackle the spider webs without fear. I’m hoping to get up quite high in the sanctuary and also in the furnace room so it’s either a hazmat suit or repeated running in small circles while screaming - looking like Miss Havisham but sounding like a sailor.
