The Week Ahead at All Saints

Good afternoon and happy Friday from All Saints. Somehow the place still manages to be snug and cozy in spite of the MASSIVE RACKET coming from the bathrooms as Doug demolishes them. Our toilets see to be putting up a considerable fight.

This Sunday 6 October we meet at 8:30 am and 10 am for the Eucharist. Then at 2:00 pm we get to bring our faithful furry friends to the Blessing of the Animals. Grab the nearest fluffy thing and bring it in to be blessed. I will be there with one of my four legged friends - just the dog though - I feel the cats would prefer to be blessed by staying at home. I can’t imagine how I would peel them off the ceiling of the sanctuary if I did attempt it - it’s way too high. I think they would just have to live in the Church for evermore. Although it might be rather nice to have a cat sitting on my desk …

On Tuesday 8 October rom 9:30 am the Pie Ladies will be in here once more - join them if you would like to help. Later, at 6 pm on Tuesday the Ladies Dinner Group meet for food and fellowship. Please sign up on the board.

On Wednesday 9 October at 10 am we meet to celebrate the Eucharist and study the Bible. The Centering Prayer Group meets at 5:30 pm in the Narthex.

On Thursday 10 October at 10:30 am the Craft Ladies meet in the hall to create lovely things and hang out together.

Next Sunday - 13 October we will celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving. As usual we will decorate the church with produce. If you could supply something to help with the decor please bring it along during office hours OR on Saturday 12 October before 9:30 am.

A couple of dates for your diary

Saturday 19 October from 9:30 am - we will be having our annual fall clean up day in our beautiful gardens. There are plenty of jobs to be done, large and small, so please plan on coming along and helping out for a while. Lunch will be provided by the Men’s Fellowship! Sounds good doesn’t it?

One other date to keep in mind is the Service of Induction for the Reverend Robin Ruder-Celiz on Thursday 7 November at 7:00 pm. While I’m at it - could you supply some squares or sweets for the reception? Please let the Wardens know if you can, or e-mail me. I’ll be bringing some scones with cream and jam - so don’t plan on making that! I would have to eat all your (inevitably better than mine) scones to avoid comparisons being made.

Enjoy your weekend!
