Hear Ye, Hear Ye ..
It’s been a busy week. Our photocopier has been working overtime producing all the vestry reports - so much so it’s developed a little rattling cough. It sounds like someone attempting to play Lativian folk music on an accordion which has a large hole in the concertina part. Incidentally, I’ve always wanted an accordion - I have a long held dream of learning to play and teaching my cats to dance to the tune of various sea shanties. And before you say “that’s ridiculous and could never happen” I present to you Exhibit A - a photo of a man living the absolute dream.
This weekend we have our usual Sunday services as well as our annual vestry meeting. This is a chance to hear about our ministries during the past year, as well as a time to vote on a few important motions and look to the future - in particular, the next stage of our renovations.
This is also the time we ask you all to consider your talents and consider how you can help out at services. There will be sign-up sheets posted in the hall for Ushers, Lay Administrators, Readers, etc … there are many opportunities to participate and be involved in ministry here at All Saints so please take the time to sign up - it’s not a binding contract or anything - perhaps you just want to know more and if that’s the case, this is your chance.
There will be finger food (supplied by Parish Council) at the meeting so you can be well fed and able to go along to Mountainview Manor at 2:30 pm for the Prayer and Praise service. Please join us in this important outreach ministry if you can.
One more thing - a message from Liz (Hamel) - do you have your palm cross from last year? If so, please bring it in to her? They are used to produce the ashes for Ash Wednesday’s service - which is coming up fast!
I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday!
