Introducing The Reverend Robin Ruder Celiz
I am very excited to begin my ministry as your new Rector and getting to know all of you more! I am passionate about parish ministry and the ways in which each and every parish can grow more fully in faith. Being born and raised in South Africa has informed and influenced my sense of Church and the many ways in which God’s love for all people can be expressed.
Elizabeth, my wife is also an Anglican priest in the Diocese of New Westminster. We were married in July 2007 and have two daughters, Charlotte (9 years old) and Amelia (7 years old). As a family we love walking our dog Emma, reading, playing Wii and enjoying quality time as a family. Our favourite destination holiday is Pender Island, however Liz and I really enjoyed Italy on our Honeymoon.
I am really looking forward to working with All Saints as we begin to discern together how best we can live fully into the Mission that God calls us into. My hope is that we can continue to strengthen and grow those aspects of parish life that give us our greatest joy and where we excel; while at the same time looking for opportunities where we might be able to grow and develop as a parish community. Churches are places, Holy spaces, where people are welcomed, find belonging and purpose and given the strength and confidence to carry out their baptismal ministry in the places where God calls them every day, whether that be around the kitchen table, in the school room, at the hospital bed or in a high rise office. God calls us to be God’s people in those places so that bushes may burn there too (to use a biblical metaphor).
