The (very wet) Week Ahead
It’s very cozy in the office this morning. The rain is bucketing down outside and I can hear it thrumming on the skylight, people are dashing through the parking lot under umbrellas, or with heads bowed under the deluge. Everyone is in a hurry to get to wherever they are going and out of the rain. And I sit here in the Church surrounded by warmth and peace, sipping my nice hot tea and feeling immense gratitude to work not only inside, but in such a snug and peaceable place. I’ve worked here for five years now and I still feel like I’m being given a hug as soon as I walk through the door of All Saints. It’s a rare and wonderful thing.
I hope you can come and soak in some of that serenity on Sunday 15 September at 8:30 am and 10:00 am when we meet to celebrate the Eucharist and welcome the Reverend Elizabeth Ruder Celiz once more.
As if to underline the whole welcoming atmosphere thing, there will be a pie-making session in the kitchen on Tuesday 17 September at 9:30 am. If you can peel, roll pastry, or otherwise assist please come along and join them.
On Wednesday the lovely Liz Hamel will be back to take the Eucharist at 10:00 am after which the Bible Study group will be studying 1 Timothy 2: 1-7. At 5:30 pm the Centering Prayer group meets in the Narthex.
On Thursday the Craft Group meet at 10:30 am in the hall to create nice things for the Bazaar.
On Friday 18 September the members of Delta Youth Theatre will be projecting their voices and doing jazz-hands all over the building as they spend the day rehearsing for their next show. I’d steer clear if I were you - it’s all way too enthusiastic for my tastes!
See you soon!
