Coming Up at All Saints
Christmas is has now reached terminal velocity and is racing towards us breath-takingly fast. If it’s all becoming a bit much and you are starting to have dreams about being tangled up in wrapping paper in ribbon - we have the antidote. Our service on Sunday 17 December at 10 am is a Service of Lessons and Carols and it will be a beautiful, peaceful, soul reviving time of worship. I hope you can make it.
On Tuesday 19 December from 6pm we have a BIG Christmas feast courtesy of Chef Dave Blair. There will be ham and all the trimmings for us and for the wider community. Please plan to be there to eat, drink and be merry. Please bring a friend or two if you wish and enjoy some stress-free time together where no one has to cook or clean up. Bliss! There is a sign up sheet on the Welcome Board or you can call the office to sign up. Signing up isn’t mandatory, it’s just helpful - even if you don’t sign up, you can still come for dinner.
On Wednesday our Midweek Eucharist is at 10am followed by a lively Bible Study.
Next Sunday is Christmas Eve! We celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent at 10 am. At 7pm we have the candlelight Christmas Eve Service with lots of lovely carols and plenty of uplifting nostalgic warmth. I can’t wait!
On Christmas Day the Brown family are taking over the parish hall to host a free Community Christmas Dinner for those who are alone or new to the area or who would like to share the company of others. Please call Shirley Brown on 778 829 7296 to reserve a seat (and/or if you need a ride). Doors open at 3.30pm, dinner will be served at 5pm. We’re so very fortunate to have such a beautiful and well appointed kitchen for hosting things like this. All the plans from years ago have come to fruition and we have the ability to share our space with the community for occasions like this. What a blessing!
There’s 10 sleeps until Christmas. It’s definitely time to think about possibly beginning to get excited soon.
