PWRDF Wild Ride
Firstly I want to thank everyone who contributed to the Canada wide Wild Ride event in October. PWRDF raised more that its original target, and over $63,000 will go toward supporting refugees and displaced people in Tanzania, Jordan, Ukraine, South Sudan, and other countries where PWRDF partners are present.
The New Westminster Diocese raised a total of $7,005 with several teams and individuals taking part in different activities. Our meeting at the Synod office with Primate Linda Nicholls and Bishop John before our team walk on September 23rd was a special event, as both are very supportive and enthusiastic about the work of PWRDF. This was followed by my ride with Jane Dittrich along the Boundary Bay Dyke trail on October 1st, a lovely mild and sunny day.
Secondly, another thank you to those who bring their bottles and drink containers to the church for recycling. The money soon mounts up, and this enables us to support our foster child, Sebastian in Nicaragua each year. In addition, I like to send letters and cards on behalf of All Saints to Sebastion and his family, and to post the replies on the notice board in the hall. Any extra money is sent for birthday and Christmas gifts, so please continue to support this project, and know that every container we recycle makes a child and his family very happy!
Thanks again, Liz Macdonald
P.S. only beverage containers are accepted, which now includes milk jugs and cartons, but not CREAM. I am happy to collect containers from home if you are unable to get them to the church.
