A Blue Christmas

This service is for those of us who struggle during the Christmas season. The media insistence that EVERYONE should be feeling good, having a wonderful time, and being surrounded by the perfect family is simply not reality for a vast majority of us. The feeling of separation from the general population so many of us are accustomed to, is especially marked when we’re repeatedly told everyone else is having the best time ever. Of course there’s also the highlight reel of Christmases past to reflect on, suffused with the rosy glow of retrospection, if we ever feel the need to poke ourselves with an emotional needle (and I really hope it’s not just me who does that!)

So, if this is a tough time for you I hope you can make it to the Blue Christmas Service. It’s reassuring to be able to look around and see you are not alone in your struggles and sadness, there are many of us feeling the same way.
