Christmas News
It’s Christmas - a time of peace, hope and joy. I can’t think of anything we all need more right now than those three things.
It really has been a crazy week. The weather has provided challenges no one wanted and things have just generally been discombobulated. We even had to cancel the Community Meal last Tuesday. I don’t believe that has ever happened before. It was a tough decision but cancelling was absolutely the right call. The meal has been rescheduled to next Tuesday - 27th December at 6 pm. I hope you can make it. We really do want as many members of All Saints to be there. Thank you so much to Chef David (and dad) and to Liz who spent so much time and effort planning, buying and preparing the food without their usual helpers who were “frozen in place” at home.
We must also acknowledge the loss of our friend Frank Sallis, who died on Wednesday night. Pat is also in hospital and is very sick. It seems they are experiencing the end of life together, just as they did everything else. I remember Pat saying “we are a two-for-one deal” and she was right. I’m sure you will join me in praying for them and the family during this time. Christmas at All Saints without Pat in attendance is hard to imagine.
We have our Christmas Eve service at 7 pm on Saturday 24th December (obviously). On Christmas morning Reverend Dudley will lead us in worship at 10 am.
On Wednesday 28th December at 10 am Dudley will be presiding at the midweek Eucharist and Bible Study.
The church office will be closed until Tuesday 3 January. We will be checking emails and phone messages however so please reach out with urgent issues.
I hope you all have a safe, warm place to be over the Christmas period and that you experience the peace, hope and joy we are promised as beloved children of God.
